Hi everyone
Over the last 12 years it has been my privilege to represent you on the Porirua City Council or Greater Wellington the Regional Council. I have enjoyed the work very much.
Once I stood for the mayoralty and came second to John Burke. Now I am standing again because there is a job to be done. I seek a chance to address long standing issues within the Council. Issues such as undisciplined spending , the ever increasing rates burden, and the need for a realistic vision. We need to sort out our budget and sort out our values. Then we will be able to proceed together.
I have set out my policy as an overview, but perhaps more important I have set out the big goals (vision) that I have.
Finally, the councillors need to lighten up. We need a sense of humour around the council table, greater tolerance of others, and to take ourselves less seriously. Better decisions would come from a more relaxed approach.
